All effectsFluted Glass Effect — how it works
Reeded glass refraction: look at any photo through ribbed glass.
Real refraction, not a stripe overlay
Each flute acts as a small cylindrical lens: it compresses and shifts the part of the image behind it, so shapes break into offset bands exactly like looking through reeded glass. Refraction controls how strongly each rib bends the image; the number of flutes sets how many ribs cross the frame.
Shade, highlight and frost
Real glass is darker in the seams between ribs and catches light on their crowns. Shade and seam width add those dark grooves, highlight adds the bright crown, and frost blurs everything behind the glass for a satin finish. Tint the shade and highlight for colored glass.
Rendered on your GPU
The effect is a WebGL shader, so the preview updates instantly and the downloaded PNG is rendered by the same shader in full resolution. Nothing is uploaded.

Also called reeded or ribbed glass: glass with parallel rounded ribs that blur and distort whatever is behind it. It is popular in interior design and in 2025–26 product and UI visuals.
For UI backgrounds try the Liquid Glass Generator in CSS Tools; this page renders the effect onto an image.
The effect needs WebGL. If your browser has it disabled, the image stays as is.
